President Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast

On February 3, 2011 President Obama spoke about the role of faith in his life and in society during the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC.   According to CNN’s Belief Blog, public opinion surveys show that only a minority number of people believe that President Obama is a Christian.  Given that reality, his remarks were notable for their intensity and candor.

The National Prayer Breakfast has been held on the first Thursday of February since its establishment in 1953.
